What A Marvelous Monday!

Over one hundred volunteers arrived ready to serve on Sunday! They were excited to meet their retreat families!

We kicked off the week right with sixteen retreat families arriving here at Gulf Place! Families traveled from various states; Oklahoma, Tennessee, Georgia, etc! All the families were introduced by their family partners. The day was topped off with a beautiful sunset and lots of laughter!

We can't wait to see what the Lord will do this week. We pray that God enriches our relationships with one another as we get to know each other throughout these next few days!

Please pray for our volunteers, retreat families and leadership team as we start this journey!

None of us wanted to leave!!

Retreat #7 Leadership Team

Our see ya' laters have been said.  Even though the week is over, the memories we all have will last a life time!!  We all look forward to staying in touch & coming back to Lighthouse again in the future!  Thank you to all for a fabulous week!

"See ya later!"

In the morning we will have breakfast with the families, & say "see ya later" before all of us head home.  Our families have been incredible.  You all will be in our prayers always!!!!

God wants us to know him!!

Can not believe it is Friday already!  It has been an incredible week.  During the week at Lighthouse we learn four truths about God - God is good, God cares, God is in control & today we learned that God wants us to know him!  We are all so blessed to have such a caring & loving God who is always there for us no matter what.
During Flip Flop the girls & boys have a yelling competition to see who can be the loudest.  This week it was a tie however we believe the boys might have had a bit of an advantage with the help of the microphone!!  At least that is the rumor!! They all enjoyed some fun time at the pool & doing some crafts.
The storms came in again in the afternoon but did quit in time for dinner, which allowed us to eat,  watch a slide show of the week & finish up the night with an awesome dance party!! We have a lot of good people who can really move!  I think we all need to sign up & try out for America's got talent!

All of the families & volunteers are wanting to stay another week...if only we could.

Thank you Frost Bites (Seaside, Florida on 30A) for all of your donations & support for Lighthouse!  You have the best shaved ice in the world & your t-shirts ROCK!!!!!

Thank you Lighthouse for a week full of blessings for all & especially our families!!

God is in control!!!!

Another fabulous day at Lighthouse Family Retreat!!!!  Our Thursday was great.  The kids prepared for the talent show during Flip Flop while the parents spent the morning together.  Taco Bar from Seaside catered our lunch for us!  It was delicious!!!  In the afternoon we pampered our moms for a short time so they got some special time just for them.  Storms tried to interrupt our evening but God was watching over us & kept them away until the last act of our Talent show was over!  Low Country Boil for dinner was prepared specially by some of our guys.  They did an awesome job!  So yummy! After dinner we had one of the best talent shows yet.  We had singers, dancers, cheerleaders, hula-hoopers, a break dancer, an Irish jig dancer, a "noodle sword" fight, a caterpillar that turned into a beautiful butterfly & our Sharks, the teenage guys & many of the dads that did a medley of dances that brought the crowd to their feet!  Every act was great & enjoyed by all our of families, volunteers & some of our Gulf Place neighbors & friends!!!  Perfect night for all!!!

Wonderful Wednesday!!!

We ended yesterday with rain & began today with rain but God is good!  It quickly ended & the kids were able to enjoy playing on the lawn & going to the pool during Flip Flop while the parents enjoyed Common Grounds.  Lunch was provided by Chick-fil-A & of course was scrumptious.  Tonight was a special night for both the parents & the kids.  The parents had dinner together at Pizza by the Sea where we toasted (with Sparkling Cider of course) to one of our couple's 14th Wedding anniversary!!  Afterwards, they shared some time walking around Seaside & enjoyed Frost Bites (best shaved ice ever) for dessert!! While they were gone the volunteers took dinner to each family's condo before bringing all the kids over for a yummy ice cream party & to watch Despicable Me.  Fun evening enjoyed by all!!!!

Happy 14th Wedding Anniversary!!
